My name is Gaz Hutchinson and I am an Internet Marketer. I just realized that sounds like the first sentence in an addicts meeting. Actually in a way that is a fitting way to start, because once you get this internet marketing bug it is almost an addiction. But one that can seriously affect your wealth!
If you are feeling the way I was a few years ago then you will be either excited by making money online, skeptical about internet marketing, daunted by this way of making a living, or feeling like a headless chicken who doesn't know which way to turn next. Actually I had all those feelings most of the time for a while.
Getting Started
What I found was that the more I read and browsed around sites run by people who had succeeded online , the more I got the feeling - "Hey this is something I can do". I just knew there was something here that could generate the sort of income I deserved, rather than what my tight wad employer was giving me.
It took a little bit of discipline and a lot of reading for me because I was a complete internet novice. That is an understatement, in fact I only knew how to type words into Google and surf around. My computer knowledge was (and to some extent still is) almost zero. So how do you go from a position like that to one of making your living online?
First Steps
There are so many options available to the "newbie" online that it can be extremely daunting setting off on your own internet business adventure. But follow a few step by step principles and anyone will make a success of it. If you are a whizz at website building and designing and know how to set up an online shop then go ahead and take that avenue. Once set up you will need to study how to get "traffic" (ie people online) to visit your site and buy from you. There is much information on Real Money Site (you must check out the Free Ultimate Website Videos) for those of you who want to take this route.
However I suspect the majority of people don't have these site building skills or would rather take an easier route, I know that's what I felt. The perfect route is affiliate marketing. This is where you sign up with a company online to promote its products and you receive a commission payment each time you make a sale.
Clickbank.com is the perfect place to start. You will find over 10,000 digital products here. just look around the site and find something you think people want to buy, sign up with the product provider and get your own "affiliate link" so that they know who to send commissions to. Don't panic! This is very easy and Clickbank have everything set up so even a total novice can do it right first time.
The beauty of this approach is you don't have to have a website or product or hold stock. All this is taken care of by the company you affiliate with, leaving you free to just drive "traffic" to the site link you will be given.
Promoting Your Programs
I say that's all you need to do, but that was a huge step for me. An excellent resource to get you over this hurdle is Perry Marshall's Guide to Google Adwords. It is a superb guide to how to promote affiliate programs using Google's search engine pay per click (ppc) adverts, something every internet marketer should learn about straight away!
One book I wouldn't be without is GoogleCash by Chris Carpenter. A very good in depth desciption of everything you need to know to promote affiliate programs for profit through Google ppc.

The most important thing I can probably say to you is "you can do it!" - I was a newbie a couple of years ago and now earn my living 100% online. Be prepared to learn from others that have succeeded, and take a bit of time to understand what you have your hands on - and go for it!
